PITTSBURGH '08 ROMANTIC TIMES BOOKLOVERS CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS |
Workshops
The workshops this year were some of the best ever. With more than 125 to
choose from, there was something for everyone. And with a record number of
attendees they were filled to capacity!

African-American Fiction panelists (clockwise from left):
Maureen Smith,
Gwyneth Bolton,
Brenda Jackson,
A.C. Arthur and Kimani senior editor Kelli Martin.

The Multicultural/Interracial panels were standing room only as writers
of all races gathered to learn how to add ethnic diversity to their
stories. After this year's tremendous turnout, we have scheduled a much
larger room for next year!

Multicultural panelists (from left): L.A. Banks,
Caridad Piñeiro,
Kimberly Kaye Terry,
Marjorie M. Liu and
Ann Christopher.

Bertrice Small,
Jennifer Blake and
Roberta Gellis wowed attendees with their experience and insight about copyright infringement at the "How to Use Historical Facts ... " workshop.
Cover Model Reunion Dinner
Dozens of Mr. Romance winners, former contestants and cover models attended
the Cover Model Reunion dinner, where the king of covers, Fabio, and the
titan of television, Adrian Paul, were guests of honor. At least one
celebrity was seated at each table so fans had a chance to get to know them
in an intimate setting. The candlelight dinner was exquisite, and
afterward, the guys graciously posed for photos -- especially Adrian Paul,
who was the last to leave the event.

2008 Mr. Romance Competition
Pittsburgh's steeltown setting inspired our construction-worker theme, and 10 lucky attendees won a raffle to appear onstage with the hopefuls.
