Hey Danielle, do you want the book when I'm done with it???? I have never read the others in the series, but this one sounds good. I will be reading it this week. _________________ Debra

Whoo Hoo !!! It's Friday. I work full time this week and next, and man it sure bites. I did get one book read this week, and started Kindred In Death last night. I love this series so much.
I will head over to help dad with some chores tomorrow, and otherwise just rest and read. Supposed to be beautiful weather here this weekend, so I will finish up bagging some more leaves and get that job over with for another year.
You all have a wonderful weekend! _________________ Teri P.

I'm just starting Seduction in Death by J.D. Robb. Yes, I'm that far behind in the series. |

Happy reading this weekend, everyone!
I'm currently reading Elizabeth Boyle's "Memoirs of a Scandalous Red Dress" and will finish it today. I'm also going to do some writing, as well. My characters are really taking me places I hadn't expected.
If I get Nalini Singh's latest, I will definately be reading that this weekend. "Blaze of Memory". How can anyone resist?
Will probably visit family this weekend, as well.
Have a great weekend, everyone! _________________ "I Play With My Prey" T-Shirt Worn by Nix the Ever-Knowing, Proto-Valkyrie and Soothsayer-Without-Equal |

Mainly, IMHO, I didn't understand the reasoning behind the villain(s) motives in the book, and therefore the whole quartet. I would be interested to know what other readers thought about it. Or maybe it's just me. Probably me!
Have a good one, Ladies.

Hey, Sheila. I read Untamed Bride and I liked it. The best way I can explain the villain is that he's killing men, women and children in India. He wants to be powerful and instill terror in the people of India. The main reason for the books are that the heroes are trying to stop him from terrorizing any more people. I hope that explains it. But if not I found this from borders and its Stephanie Laurens explaining it(it's number 3):

Hello ladies! Happy weekend!
Today is my 16th wedding anniversary, so we are going to dinner tonight with some friends, pretty low key. I started Covet by JR Ward the other night and believe it or not, I'm finding that I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. But I went into it with pretty low expectations because I didn't want to be disappointed.
I will probaby not get much else read this weekend. It's a big long book and I don't think I'll have time. But if I do, I will either read Bengal's Heart by Lora Leigh (I know, I can't believe I haven't read it yet!) or maybe What She Needs by Lacey Alexander. I read a few snippets of that yesterday when I bought the book...I might have to wait for another weekend though for that one! It looks GOOD!!! |

And Gypsy, I have said it before the Brenda Novak books are outstanding. When she came to our group she said that in The PErfect LAir, it was based on a real person. Just really good books. Can't wait for her next series next year. They sound real good. |
Debra - thanks for the endorsement on Brenda Novak books - I've looked at her books on and off for a while and when the bookclub had a sale I went for it and bought three - the "Perfect" series. Now that I know someone else has really enjoyed them I will jump right in!! I love romantic suspense as long as the author remembers to put the romance in the book!!

Won't be reading much this weekend - building a deck in the backyard - perfect weather this time of year. But my our daughter and her husband are coming over to help, so she and I'll talk books all weekend. Both of our husbands will be doing a lot of eye rolling. Looking forward to getting back to my TBR pile when I go back to work |

brwneyedbeauty - thanks for that. Unfortunately I couldn't access No 3 on that link. The others came up but not that one.
To get back to Why? - I understand he's having men women and children killed to instill terror but WHY? Is it for money (bet it is); to undermine the British or the East India Company. Again, why?
As I said, this is probably just me but it did take something away from the book for me.
However, I shall still be buying The Elusive Bride!

I see what you're saying, Sheila. All I can say is sometimes you don't know why people in power do what they do. I liked the book regardless, but I don't quite get the why either. Other than that, I think that the scenes between Del and Deliah were good, especially the love scenes.
It was also nice to see what has happened to the Cynster's, Chillingworth and the Bastion club members. I, too will be buying the next one. Maybe the why will be clarified more in the next ones.
PS- here's the link again. hopefully this one works

Hi Teri:
Once you're done there, want to come up to Edina and help me with my .5 acres of leaves
I just received Kindred in Death and Tucker's Claim. I'll flip a coin...or maybe those leaves can wait for another weekend _________________ "Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear."

Hi janipooh. No, I didn't meet Betty Neels. She died a couple of years ago, don't know whether you were aware of that.
I'm afraid I don't really like her books. I find them very 'samey' - Brit nurse/sister and Dutch doctor! I have read a couple though.

I'm currrently reading 'Captive of Sin' by Anna Campbell. Her book was selected for Book Club Discussion for the month of November by The Season Forum Book Club. (Incidentally, I was overjoyed that my debut novel, 'Fire at Midnight' was selected as the November debut selection by the Book Club).
So far, I am thoroughly enjoying Captive of Sin and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
If you'd like to participate in the book club discussions of Captive of Sin or Fire at Midnight (or both!!), please come join the discussion at:

well I ended up finishing Tying the Knot by Susan May Warren - didn't like it too well. Then did a quick read of Sealed and Delivered by Jill Monroe(november blaze title) it was cute-ish but took a while to get to the nookie IMO plus I was tired and already grumbly from Tying the Knot.
However I started What a Dragon Should Know by G. A. Aiken and think it'll be a winner! so far it's cute/funny but I know there will be some drama/fighting I'l have to overlook since I'm a weakling when it comes to that kinda stuff and has been my least favorite part of her books. This dragon is funny though. and don't plan on getting much farther than this book..probably be reading it on night shift Monday night... _________________ Susanna |

I'm currently reading All Things Beautiful by Cathy Maxwell and I'm enjoying it very much. I've always like her books, I know when I pick one up that it will be satisfying. I hope to finish it today, but am not sure what will be next up.
Other than that I'm cooking a turkey breast with stuffing-I couldn't wait til Thanksgiving. I also have to put my Halloween village away and that is pretty time consuming. I work tomorrow, but have tues and wed off and just plan on reading those days.
I hope you all are enjoying your sunday. _________________ http://www.shelfari.com/o1517820184 |
