Hi,

Just like Robin McKinley, my favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast.
I've read her two versions of it, Rose and Rose Daughter.

I was recently wow'ed by a red hot modern version, Mistress to the Beast, by Eve Vaughn.

Any other books with this theme?

My all time fave is Taming the Beast by Amy J. Fetzer. Check out the Fairytale board as well where they have lots of suggestions.

Peace, Julie

I think The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt could classify.

I just read 'Taming the Beast' by Heather Grothaus. Set in Medieval England Roderick returns to his estate, badly wounded from battle in the Crusades. There's a slightly paranormal/magical element to it, but this doesn't really appear until near the end. I actually found this element to the story disappointing-it wasn't necessary to include it.
