I didn't watch the old V series so I have no basis for comparison. I enjoyed this. I thought the effects were good and the plot really kept me interested. The lady from Lost did a great job. I intend to keep watching.

I wateched it, and while it wasn't exactly like the original, it was pretty darn close. I liked it and plan on tuning in next week Smile

When the miniseries first aired I was a kid and remember it scaring me. But I still love it and watched it over the weekend on the syfy channel. Its cheesy but that's what makes it so much fun. They also showed the old tv series and I saw some of the episodes again those were not so good actually pretty bad.

I saw some of the new series yesterday but was doing other things so I will rewatch it later. I knew from the commercials that Morena Baccarin from Firefly was on it but didn't realize that Alan Tudyk was in it too. I hope it's good. I've been looking forward to it since they've been airing the commercials.

I have the radio on in the kitchen pretty much 24/7. At midnight the "woo woo" show comes on (Coast to Coast -- with the aliens, ghosts, etc.). So, some poor woman is going on and on about the people she's known who were reptilian. Apparently the host wasn't familiar with 'V' and didn't get what she was obsessing on ....

I liked it. It grabbed me right away. I've never seen the original, so I don't have any expectations of how it will play out. It was great seeing Moneca Baccarin again, although she seems to be getting typecast as the beautiful, evil, all-powerful alien overlord! And Alan Tudyk, of course. He's a really good actor. He can be zany and silly and then so chilling, too.

Sorry I missed it.

When the preview of that "V" woman's head popping out over some city it just creeped me out. LOL I don't think I'll be watching this show anytime soon.

Maybe if everyone here starts to give it "great" reviews then I might give it a go then.

Enjoy your "Vistors". Wink

I was kinda disappointed. SyFy just did a 3 day airing of the 1980's V and I was much more impressed w/that though its been ages since I last watched it. I even was motivated to get the dvd collection of the series!
So since the original V was fresh in my memory, I was hoping for more details in the new V. I have to come to terms that the new V is like the new Battlestar Gallactaca, its just based on the original. Sigh.
I will be watching the new V. And dvr'ing it.
Btw, I thought the first airing on Tues would be 2hrs long, too bad it wasn't.

I actually like this version better than the first one, the same way I found the newer Battlestar Galactica better (till the hokey conclusion) and Star Trek: Next Generation better than the first Trek. Maybe it's just that the effects now are so much more believable. Good thing I finally got a DVR so I could tape it while I watched NCIS, then viewed the recording later.

You're right, the effects are better now. I admit to thinking the old V is rather cheesey and the new one is slick, less cheesey.

Ohh, I'm so glad we agree again on BG's conclusion Smile

I never saw the original but I did watch this one. Don't know if I will continue, apparently it was one weird show too many for me and I had strange dreams all night. Maybe Flash Forward is the only one I can handle. And Eastwick. And then there's The Forgotten. LOL. Yeah. I need more comedy.
