How much would you pay for over 100 romance books in good condition (including shipping in U.S.)?
What's the lowest price you've ever paid for an ebook? How much would you like ebook prices to be?
What's the highest price you've ever spent on a book not for school and was it worth it?
...Just gathering info...
My answers...
I would want to spend less than $1 a book for sure.
I've received ebooks for free but I wouldn't mind paying up to $10 but it depends on the subject matter and page length. I would like to see the ebooks be much less than the physical copies.
The highest I've ever spent on a non school book was a little over $20 - definitely worth it! _________________ Huge Bulk lot of books (over 120 books) for low price.

I would never buy 100 books at one time. That's just me. _________________ There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is.

Used paperbacks, mass market books? I don't think $100 for the lot is off the mark give or take. Depends if I know the titles ahead of time or am taking "pot luck." If there were a few in there that I knew I was looking for, I would go higher.
I have never bought an ebook, but am thinking about getting a reader. For a first run book only available in hardcover, I might...just might pay $5. E stuff seems transient to me and of little permanent value.
Most I ever spent on a non-school/work book? (looks over shoulder to make sure DH is not watching). $400. Okay, that was for a brand new two volume encyclopedia on Medieval Italy. Worth every penny.

Depending on the titles in the 100 book set, I would pay anywhere from $100 to $175.
The most I have ever spent on a book (excluding all of my school texts) was $350. It was for the best Equine Reproduction book.
The most I have spent on a fiction book was $80 and it was for an older book, don't remember if it was Suzanne Brockmann, Sherrilyn Kenyon or who. |

I think it would depend a lot on the titles --if there were a few "gems" (i.e. Hard to find paperbacks), even if the rest were of no interest, I'd probably spend anywhere from $75+ -- it really would depend on what is in the stack. I would definitely need a complete list (title/author).
I think the most I've spent on a book was, hmmm around $150, but that was the new price, and I really wanted it anyway. I think the most I spent on a used book was...maybe around the same...I think that was a rare art monograph or first edition or something.
I've never purchased 100 books at a time, but I have purchased lots of 20-50 mass market paperbacks to get the few I wanted; I just traded/sold the rest, and wasn't really out anything. _________________ There is one thing worse than a loveless marriage. If I had a list of titles/authors and thought I would read a large portion of them, I'd probably pay up to $100.

I've never bought an ebook.

I've bought a couple of books off of ebay for $12 - $15. I usually read them and then resell them to get most of my money back. _________________ Robin

I don't think I would buy 100 book lot for any price. Mainly because I'm picky about my authors. I have purchased lots by a specific author to get an entire collection. If I remember correctly it came out to around $3 per book.
I've never purchased an ebook. I prefer a printed book. I did get a gift of an ebook once and read it on my computer but it was not a comfortable read and I would not choose to read that way on a regular basis.
The most I've spent on a book?? $120 - it was for a hardcover copy of Honor's Spendor by Julie Garwood. I collect in hardcover and I work really hard to get all of my favorite authors backlist in hardcover. I'm also glad to see that I am not the only one that spends a great deal on a book I really want!!! _________________ Nothing beats a hammock in the shade, a light breeze, books to read and lots of time to enjoy them!! |

A few years ago I paid $15 for a copy of Get Lucky by Suzanne Brockmann. It's in excellent condition. I was also fortunate enough to win a copy of the same book in mint condition at Suz's signing for Force of Nature. _________________ "You have more books than a library" -my nephew. |

I would not want to buy 100 books- to me it sounds like a lot of junk. I have been to library sales where there are thousands of books but I would only be interested in certain titles. I am picky about my authors too.
I have paid 7 dollars for used books beofre for hard to find books. If it was a favorite author with a hard to find title I could see myself going as high as about 20 but it would have to be a very favorite author. I haven't had to do that though.
Since an ebook is something I wouldn't keep for years on my shelf I m not sure I would want to spend too much on those but I am hopelessly behind the times so maybe in a few years I'll have changed my thinking. |

Linda, I'm with you. I would have no idea where I would even put 100 more books in my house. _________________ Ciao,
