What are some of your favorite romances where the heroine must choose between two men? I have never really gotten up the courage to read these types of romances because someone always loses in the end. Or ends up in the next book in a series Wink

So what books would you recommend where both the guys have good points but the heroine goes with one over the other?

Peace, Julie

Libby's London Merchant by Carla Kelly (sort of)

The "problem" I've found is generally, I feel like the author has skewed it so it's not really that hard a decision for the heroine in the end--there is always someone she is way more drawn to. It feels like often there is guy #1 (who is solid, dependable, good job/social position, but not that exciting) and guy #2 (usually younger, better looking, exciting, usually she's more attracted to him). While in real life guy #1 seems like a better go, at least by practical standards, you know the heroine is going to choose guy #2 anyway....

I think there's a thread aways back related to this...must go see if I can find it...

I admit that this is not my favorite plotline, but I did enjoy Jennifer Haymore's Something Wicked. So glad she picked the right guy *g*

I'd rather have my romances skewed so that you know who to root for and can just sit back and enjoy the ride.

For a fluffy mystery, Joanne Fluke's series has the Norman vs. Mike thing going. I'm picking up her latest tonight from the library, so no one tell me anything. I probably know after the last book, but still...

Lisa Kleypas contemporary romance---Sugar Daddy---she was in love with her long time childhood friend Hardy, but another guy comes on the scene. I love her books but I did not like the way this book turned out. I think having 2 heros is fine but don't write it where she falls in love with both--one has to have an unforgivable flaw in order for her to be pushed towards the other.

1-Without a Trace
2-Beyond a Doubt
3- Into the Deep
4- Cry in the Night...
This series is by Colleen Coble and they need to be read in order. They are an Inspiratinal mystery/romance series, and I thought they were just great.
She did have to choose between two guys and I usually don`t care for that plot but it was really good in these.

I haven't read this, but it sounds like the hero has to choose...

Where the Heart Leads by Kim Vogel Sawyer

After his graduation from college, Thomas Ollenburger is filled with big dreams and even bigger questions. What will he do for a job? Should he marry? Where will he call home? Torn between his Mennonite roots on the Kansas prairie and his love for the big city of Boston, as well as his affection for a girl from each location, Thomas doesn't know which path he is meant to take. He has always sought God's help with his decision-making, but now it seems Heaven is staying stubbornly silent. What will Thomas choose?

The title's actually A HINT OF WICKED Smile

And if you like them erotic, you could try a book by Jennifer's alter ego, Dawn Halliday, titled HIGHLAND OBSESSION but it is very hot and there is a menage scene, so be warned.

I read Sugar Daddy not long ago, and that did not seem to be the case to me. To me it was more like a teenage crush that never went anywhere because Hardy would not let it go anywhere. And because it did not go anywhere Liberty thought something was there when in reality they were just really good friends that went through a lot together when they were young. I believe that had they got together when they were young it would have broke off and they may not have been friends later. Just my opinion mind you. Read Blue-Eyed Devil and you will understand Hardy more.
