| Bliss has written a beautiful, tender love story with well-thought-out characters and memorable situations. Not judging people based on their outward appearance is the backbone of this novel, which is filled with romance, secrets and, most importantly, tons of laughter.
Summary: In 1890, artist Tom Haskins is second guessing himself about advertising for a mail-order bride. Sara McGee is
not what he expected at all. Sara wonders if she made the right choice too. She is not as refined as the other ladies in Bethlehem; she is without money and not well educated. Tom and his sister take Sara under their wing and try to transform her into a lady.
When a talented pianist, Annabelle Loving, enters the picture, Sara believes she cannot compete with her and leaves. But Tom has come to his senses -- he does want her as his bride. Will he find her in time? (SUMMERSIDE, Oct., 320 pp., $12.99)
