WHAT I DID FOR LOVE
by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

RT Rating: ½
Category: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
Publisher: MORROW
Published: February 2009
Type: Contemporary Romance

Phillips is back with her patented blend of quirky humor and pathos as she spotlights the train wreck that is her heroine's life. The weirdness of Hollywood is back on display as Phillips takes two former child stars with a turbulent past and mixes vigorously. Then add whimsy, humor and a drug-induced wedding and you have Phillips at her best!

Summary: Actress Georgie York has hated former childhood co-star Bram Shepard ever since he torpedoed their highly successful TV series Skip and Scooter. While Georgie has continued with a modest movie career, bad boy Bram has pretty much made himself persona non grata in the industry. Georgie's personal life, however, recently crashed and burned after her famous movie-star husband dumped her for another exotic actress. The last straw is learning about the happy new couple's pregnancy.

Devastated, Georgie unwisely heads to Vegas, where she runs into Bram and a spiked drink. Upon waking, they're horrified to learn they've gotten married. To save her reputation, Georgie proposes they stay married temporarily. Bram agrees -- but with his own interesting stipulations. (MORROW, Feb., 416 pp., $25.99) MILD
