| Like a giant puzzle, the true scope of the dangers facing Zoey Redbird and her fledgling vampire friends are slowly being revealed in this fourth House of Night novel. As the narrator, it is Zoey's sense of humor and sense of duty that help make her such a refreshing and fascinating character. Good pacing keeps the plot running on all cylinders as the book races to its frightening crescendo. After this, nothing will be
the same!
Summary: Some major screwups have left Zoey in a difficult position with her cadre of friends. Surprisingly it is former enemy Aphrodite who stays close. Although Aphrodite is no longer a vampire fledgling, she still has the visions provided by the goddess Nyx. What Aphrodite's visions are telling her is that Zoey has been targeted for death by creatures called Raven-Mockers.
Knowing that the High Priestess Neferet is planning to launch a war
on humans, Zoey struggles to find a way to stop her. Loyalties will be put
to the test and Zoey must learn to
trust her growing powers -- because
a darkness not seen in centuries may
be rising. (ST. MARTIN'S GRIFFIN, Oct., 352
