THE STRENGTH OF THE WOLF
by Jorrie Spencer

RT Rating:
Category: PARANORMAL ROMANCE
Publisher: Samhain
Published: August 2008
Type: Paranormal

Readers may have a hard time sticking with this passive read at the beginning, but if they do, they'll be rewarded. Spencer's characters are endearing, the plot is entertaining and the love both man and boy find for the werewolf in this tender tale is well worth the wait.

Summary: Veronica is a werewolf without her memory. When she's injured in a trap, she realizes that she must turn mortal once again instead of staying in her wolf form 99 percent of the time. Her rescuer is most definitely a human -- a man who makes her want to be a woman and to remember her past.

David doesn't know why the wolf he named Goldie means so much to him, and he's mystified when the wolf recovers from its injuries and turns up at his camping site. When Goldie disappears and a woman with the same color eyes comes to the camp, he's enthralled. But before he can find out why Veronica seems familiar, trouble threatens his nephew. Soon David and Veronica are dealing with danger and the possibility of a future together. (Samhain, Aug., 256 pp., $13.50) HOT
