RT Rating: Category: MYSTERY Publisher: Mundania Published: August 2007 Type: Mystery (Suspense, Series) |
| Those who haven't read the previous installments of Meredith's Tempe Crabtree series needn't shy away.
The tale is fast paced and easy to
read, and Tempe is a realistic heroine
who feels like a friend.
Summary: Deputy Tempe is gearing up for a busy Memorial Day weekend when she responds to a case of domestic violence. A former classmate, Jackie, has been assaulted by her husband, and Tempe has enough evidence to arrest him, despite the victim's plea not to press charges. Tom Cannata, a big shot in town, is soon out of jail. Then Jackie is found murdered in her burning house.
Feeling guilty that she couldn't save her, Tempe looks into her past to try to resolve issues. She visits a Yanduchi shaman who wants her to embrace traditional native beliefs. With her own life now threatened by the killer, Tempe must draw out the suspects while accepting
her heritage. (Mundania, Aug., 139 pp., $10.00)
