NOT ANOTHER NEW YEAR'S
by Christie Ridgway

RT Rating: ½
Category: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
Publisher: Avon
Published: January 2007
Type: Contemporary Romance

It's always a treat to read a Ridgway novel! Fans of this author have yet another fast-paced story with fabulous characters and steamy love scenes to enjoy. Readers new to Ridgway's work are starting the New Year out right with this humorous, delightfully well-crafted tale of love, which manages to feel original and emotionally suspenseful, despite our assurance of a happily-ever-after ending.

Summary: Second-grade teacher Hannah Davis flies to sunny Southern California for a vacation that quickly turns into an unexpected adventure. Sure, she has a broken heart, thanks to her cheating ex-fiance, but it's been far too long since she's had any kind of one-night fling. Make that ... um, never.

Tanner Hart -- former Secret Service agent, current family screwup -- has a plan to help get his career back on track. That plan involves Hannah, all right. It just doesn't involve touching her. At all. Unfortunately, the impossibly strong physical attraction between the two greatly complicates matters, as does Tanner's brother, a Middle Eastern princess and the lover of Hannah's ex. Love will win out, it's true, but getting there proves to be chock full of twists and turns. (AVON, Jan., 384 pp., $6.99) HOT
