SEX, LIES, AND ONLINE DATING
by Rachel Gibson

Category: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
Publisher: Avon
Published: February 2006
Type: Contemporary Romance

Lucy Rothschild is about to discover that life sometimes imitates fiction. While doing research on her new mystery novel, dead.com, Lucy decides to subject herself to online dating. She wonders if it is possible to meet a nice, normal guy and not just a loser who will become her book's next murder victim.

Detective Quinn McIntyre hopes to catch a break in his latest case in which someone is setting up online dates and then killing the men. Quinn is about to date the woman he considers a prime suspect: Lucy.

Despite their best intentions, the two are drawn to each other. It's easy to identify with them as they struggle to fight their feelings. Quinn needs to uncover if Lucy is a killer writing about what she knows best ... or if she has an adoring fan who wants to fulfill Lucy's novels? It appears that online dating and lying go hand-in-hand.

As the mystery builds, so does the relationship between Lucy and Quinn. Gibson's characters are well developed, believable and compelling. The action is fast-paced, with few subplots to distract the reader. There is an appropriate blend of romance and mystery that leaves you satisfied ... yet wanting more. (Feb., 363 pp., $6.99)
