Cajun culture and family bonds make this story a pure delight. Charmaine is a woman who has reinvented herself on several occasions, but love still eludes her. Filled with humor and some pathos, this is one terrific read!
Summary:
Life has taken yet another nasty turn for former Cajun beauty queen, Charmaine LeDeux. Charmaine has overcome long odds and become a successful businesswoman, but her luck in romance, on the other hand, has been the pits. Divorced four times, she's ready to give up on men.
Her pride has also gotten her into a nasty mess. Instead of using a bank loan
to cover some bad stock purchases, Charmaine went to a local loan shark, and now the man wants payment at astronomical rates. Just when she thinks things can't get worse, her first ex-husband, sexy Raoul Lanier, shows up with the news that they were never really divorced.
