Jon Land at ThrillerFest 2009

RT caught up with thriller writer Jon Land at ThrillerFest in New York yesterday to present him with our Pioneer of Genre Fiction Award, since he had been unable to pick it up in person at our convention in April. Land was first published in 1983 with THE DOOMSDAY SPIRAL. Since then, he's written more than 25 books and has over 7 million copies in print.

Land says, "Being a great writer is about always growing, always learning, and doing everything possible to entertain and thrill your readers. Hands down, the greatest compliment I can be given is, 'I couldn't put your book down!' It was that way 25 books and 25 years ago and it's that way now."

He's looking forward to seeing everyone in Columbus at next year's RT convention!
