Author Edith Layton Passed Away

Veteran romance author Edith Layton died yesterday, June 1, 2009, having lost her battle with ovarian cancer. She was a blogger at Word Wenches and on Wednesday, June 3, a tribute to her will be posted, so please visit and leave comments. You can also read all of her blog posts.

Edith won an RT Book Reviews Career Achievement award for the Historical genre in 2003 and a Reviewers' Choice award for her book THE CONQUEST in 2001.

She is survived by her three children, grandchildren, and readers around the world.
