When Accidents Happen, It's Time to Read

As I sit here on my couch, hobbled by the cast on my fractured foot, I look at the pile of books I am reading and about to read and wonder... how did that happen?! I was reading one at a time, like I usually do, and then they multiplied like bunnies! So, what am I reading?

Besides a couple of magazines, I am reading:



Volume One of THE GLASS BOOKS OF THE DREAM EATERS by Gordon Dahlquist. A true genre bending book, it has been called a romance, adventure, steampunk and more. I am reading the paperback version, which is split into two volumes, whereas the hardcover includes both volumes. So far, I have no clue what is happening, but I think that is probably where I am supposed to be.



The second half of Mary Blaney's TRAITOR'S KISS/LOVER'S KISS omnibus. I read the first book awhile back, but for some reason haven't been able to stick with it to finish the second one.

And even as I get into these, I am opening up a couple others:



Richelle Mead's SUCCUBUS HEAT. I have been looking forward to this book for ages. When I was reading the previous one, a friend of mine not only spoiled the big climax, he then gave away information that had been hinted at in the preview chapter of HEAT. Months later, I finally get to find out what happens!



EXTRAORDINARY ENGINES, a steampunk anthology I picked up for my boyfriend. Since he is also reading a few books at a time, he is only one story into it. I keep staring at it on my coffee table, considering whether or not to steal it from him and read it myself.



And lastly, Kim Harrison's debut YA novel, ONCE DEAD, TWICE SHY. This series is about Madison Avery, whom we met in the PROM DATES FROM HELL anthology. Even with my broken foot, I made sure to pick up this and Ms. Mead's book ASAP. Since I can't really move around, I think I just might get to make a dent (well, a dimple) in my TBR shelves.
