Here I Am at RT, blog from Anya Bast

At the moment, I'm poolside in beautiful spring Florida, weather—hot, but not that humid. I've just had a nice dip in the pool and I'm sipping a Mai Tai. Not bad huh? It's just a brief respite from the wonderful RT craziness that I've been immersed in since I arrived.

I got in yesterday morning after spending a mini vacation at Disney World with my family. Yesterday after I settled in, got my giveaway baskets where they needed to be, and attended to all the minutia of an arriving authorness. I hit a couple panels, met up with old friends and met new. After dinner, I hit the EC Jungle party and danced the night away.

Thursday morning I sat on a well-attended panel about writing action-packed paranormal romance, attended another seminar, had lunch with my awesome agent, Laura Bradford, and some friends: Sascha White, Vivi Anna, Lauren Dane, Megan Hart and Beth Williamson. In the evening was the fabulous Faery Court. The costumes were fantastic!

Friday morning was a party myself and some other authors—Ann Aguirre, Megan Hart, Lauren Dane and Cynthia Eden--threw for the readers called the Love Shack Party. Can't beat bagfuls of free books, goodies and more, not to mention all the cookies, drinks and snacks you can hold. It was a friendly, casual event and well attended. This was the second year we've thrown this party and we always have a blast with it. We think the readers do too. Here are few pictures from the event.

Me, showing off the yummy spread.
Still to attend yet today is Harlequin's 60th Anniversary party, the RT Book Reviews Awards Ceremony and last, but certainly not least, the Vampire Ball. Whew!!! What a fun, jam-packed event! I can't wait to see what happens next!

What I love best about coming to RT is meeting the readers. Romance authors have the best readers of all the genres, in my opinion (not that I'm biased or anything *g*). Friendly, vivacious and ready for a good time, you can never go wrong with the con filled with romance lovers.
