Robin Schone Fans Rejoice!
Robin called with the exciting news that she has signed with Berkley Sensation editor Kate Seaver for a two book deal plus a novella which will be in an upcoming anthology.
You may recall that Robin's career was on hold for over 4 years when she and Kensington Books were in a dispute and until it was settled she could not write for any other publishers.
Last year the dispute was settled and Kensington finally published her last book for them, SCANDALOUS LOVERS, in February 2007. (it received a Top Pick from our reviewer).
If this sounds familiar it's because Dara Joy went through a similar situation with Dorchester but unfortunately Dara has yet to come out the other end of this dispute and has dropped off the face of the earth. Fans write in to say they have tried to reach her but to no avail. We too have tried to reach her but without success.
I think it is fantastic that Robin has been out of the publishing arena for so long yet her fans have never abandoned her. At our RT convention in St. Louis (April 2005) I was amazed to see a group of her loyal fans show us with t-shirts that said something like, "I'm a Robin Schone Fan." These are readers who chat on her message boards where Robin can often be found. And when they heard she was coming to the RT convention they flocked to be with her.
Robin "hung out" with her fans even though she was not pushing a book! Kudos to Robin for making a strong comeback and for respecting her fans because as we all know some authors don't even answer email.
I look forward to her wonderful "hot," ground-breaking historical romances and I wish her all the best.
