Reminiscing About RT's 25 Years

The June issue of RT, which just shipped, marks the milestone of our 25th Anniversary (June 1981-June 2006).

To celebrate the occasion our fearless leader (and founder) Kathryn Falk and I have written a article (displaying lots of vintage photos) reminiscing about those precious early days of RT.

If you have any great RT stories to tell about the magazine or the RT conventions please share them here with for all to enjoy.

Thanks,

RT Name Change

Well, we did it! We modified the name of the magazine to be Romantic Times BOOKreviews.

The new logo appears on the June issue which has just shipped.

It was 25 years ago in June 1981 that we published our first issue of RT so it's fitting that we have made some special changes to the June 2006 issue--namely the entire issue is now all color!!

Thank you all for being a part of our Silver Anniversary and we are looking forward to bringing you book news and reviews for the next 25 years!

Comic Books & Graphic Novels

Just when I thought comic books were passé in comes the news that more kids - especially girls - are reading comic books than ever before.

I am really curious. Is this trend reflected with YOUR teenage kids? I would for you to ask your kids and their friends if they are hooked on comic books and if so which ones do they read.

I am interested because in the past few months there have been announcements about popular authors like Laurell K. Hamilton and Sherrilyn Kenyon coming out with graphic novels for adults based on their books.

In the beginning of the year Harlequin announced their graphic novel effort with Ginger Blossom. And more recently a website http://www.myromancestory.com surfaced with romance novels in comic book format.

Are you interested in comic-book-style and/or the illustrated novel? There seems to be a growing interest in this format and perhaps a future trend.

I'd love to hear your taken this.
