A DIRTY Book
It's not often that I find myself crying on the subway over an erotic romance, but that's what happened last week as I finished Megan Hart's DIRTY (Jan., Spice)on the way to work.
I don't read much erotica (I'm more of a paranormal, YA junkie), but I was writing a piece on Hart's new book for our January issue, so I picked up a copy in the RT office to browse. From the first page, I was hooked. The novel is sexy, sure, but the sex is so evenly entwined into the intricacies of main character Elle's life that it all flows seamlessly off the page. Hart is a truly great writer.
Hart's got a five-book deal with Harlequin Spice -- she's also written for Ellora's Cave -- and I can't wait for her next Spice book, BROKEN, to come out in March.
So if you're looking for a great new author to read, or you've been interested in trying erotica, but weren't sure who to try, I suggest Megan Hart's DIRTY. It's out in stores January '07.

I gotta say... that cover alone woud pique my interest... the bathroom looks clean... but there are two set of feet under the stall... and "Dirty" scrawled on the tile.
I'm not new to erotica but I think I will take your advice and pick up a copy!!

I've had the very lucky task of being Megan's CP on her Spice books and I can say without reservation that the three she's done so far are incredible.
Dirty is so much more than any one thing - erotic, romantic, literary and really moving. Wait until you read Broken, I sent her a very long email twice for making me cry, LOL.
I had the fabulous good fortune to read this book in advance. Elissa nails it. I don't read a lot of erotica, not because I don't like it, but because so much of it is all about titillation and not about story.
Megan Hart somehow manages to balance emotion, story progression, and heat and hand it all over in beautiful language that transcends the words used to create it.
I really liked Dirty, too. Sex is integral to the story, which is all about relationships and finally, love. IMHO, this is more of a Romantic Erotica category, which is what I look for. I'm definitely going to look for Broken, and anything else by Megan Hart. (What is a CP?)
